Boy band Vanner will release its first Japanese digital single on Thursday and perform the new music for Japanese fans during the concerts scheduled to take place on Thursday and Saturday in Osaka and Tokyo.
The single, titled "PERFORMER -Japanese ver.-," will include two songs: a Japanese version of the band's latest dance track "PERFORMER" and an original Japanese song titled "Pony Tail."
The two songs will be performed for the first time in front of the fans on Thursday when Vanner will hold its first "fan concert" — a mash-up of a concert and meet and greet — in Japan as part of the band's first fan concert tour "VVS Adventure."
VVS is the name of the boy band's fandom. "VVS Adventure" kicked off earlier this month with two events in Seoul.
Vanner debuted as a five-member band —Taehwan, Gon, Hyeseong, Sunggook and Yeonggwang — in 2019 after training themselves through over 200 live performances in Japan. The group's name is a combination of the words "victory" and "banner."
After initially seeing lukewarm success, Vanner competed on "Peak Time" as Team 11:00 and finished first place. The series aired from February to April to shed light on already-debuted but lesser-known boy bands.
The boy band dropped its first EP "Veni, Vidi, Vici" on Aug. 21, making it Vanner's first music release since "Peak Time." The album has sold 110,000 copies since its release, the highest ever for the band.
