SM Entertainment told the Korea JoongAng Daily Wednesday that the exclusive contracts between the agency and EXO members signed at the end of last year are still valid, refuting a report that alleged EXO's Chanyeol and Sehun signed exclusive contracts with a different agency.
"Chanyeol and Sehun's moving agencies is not true," the agency said. "The exclusive contracts between our agency and EXO members are valid, and the members will continue activities as EXO under SM Entertainment."
A Korean media outlet had reported earlier that Chanyeol and Sehun were leaving SM Entertainment for a different agency.
While SM Entertainment refuted this report, the agency said that individual activities by members are permitted through companies established by the members, saying that "we have decided to allow individual activities of members conditionally."
Chanyeol and Sehun debuted as part of EXO, best known for songs like "Growl" (2013), "Ko Ko Bap" (2017) and "Love Shot" (2018). The two members are part of subunit EXO-SC.
