Fifty Fifty's Keena drops suit against Attrakt, says she wants to return to agency

Korean media reports confirmed that Keena, 21, dropped her suit for an injunction to end her contract with the agency after she appealed a Seoul court's initial dismissal of the injunction request on Aug. 28.

A member of girl group Fifty Fifty said she wants to return to the band's agency Attrakt, signaling both a possible resolution of the months-long legal battle between the members and agency and a disagreement among the band's four members.

Korean media reports confirmed that Keena, a 21-year-old member whose real name is Song-Ja-kyung, dropped her suit for an injunction to end her contract with the agency after she appealed a Seoul court's initial dismissal of the injunction request on Aug. 28.

The request was filed on June 19. The four members immediately appealed the dismissal.

"Keena expressed her wishes to return to the agency, and the company will start talking, but the CEO of Attrakt has not talked directly with the member," Korean entertainment news outlet Star News said Monday, quoting an anonymous source from Attrakt.

The other three members — Saena, Aran and Sio — have not dropped the appeal, Star News said. The four members have been accusing Attrakt of mistreating them, forcing them to work despite their worsening health conditions and failing to share the company's income with the girl group

Keena's decision comes five days after the girl group uploaded an Instagram post on Thursday, once again arguing that Attrakt failed to look after the members and forced them to work through severe health issues.

A day later, on Friday, they uploaded a diagnostic letter from the hospital showing that Sio had an anxiety attack earlier this year "due to stress and anxiety from her training."

In another post on Monday, the members said Oscar Chun lied to "manipulate the public sentiment" in saying he sold his personal assets to fund Fifty Fifty's activities.

The Instagram account was opened in August after keeping mum for two months following their injunction request.

Meanwhile, Attrakt is preparing to launch another girl group by the first half of next year through an audition program after Fifty Fifty has practically halted its activities since the quartet and its agency began a legal brawl in June.

The company also filed a 1-billion-won ($741,000) suit against the girl group's production company The Givers and its executives on Sept. 27 for allegedly violating their contract with Attrakt.

Oscar Chun, Attrakt's CEO, has been alleging The Givers' Ahn did not adequately provide data relevant to Fifty Fifty's earnings to diminish the agency's control over the group and encourage them to sign with another agency without his knowing.
