IHC rejects Imran Khan's plea to challenge his in-prison trial

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has rejected former Prime Minister and head of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) political party, Imran Khan's plea to challenge his jail trial in a cipher case. The court cited security concerns for the PTI chief's trial to be held in Adiala jail. Khan has been directed to approach the trial court if he has any reservations. Shah Mehmood Qureshi, PTI Vice Chairman, has also filed a petition challenging his jail trial. The court has set the date for the indictment on October 17. The FIA has filed a charge sheet stating that Khan and Qureshi misused the classified document for their political interests.
