Toyota Korea said on Monday its 2023 Toyota Skill Contest was held at the Toyota Training Center in Seongsu-dong, Seoul on October 14, marking another year of a competition aimed at showcasing the skills of professionals working within Toyota’s service centers and service advisors.

The contest has been a company tradition since 2002, where experts from Toyota Korea’s service centers, including technicians and service advisors, test their knowledge in various technical and customer service aspects. Both Toyota and Lexus have taken turns organizing and conducting these competitions, each year with a different theme.

This year’s contest revolved around the theme “One Team for Customer Happiness,” emphasizing the brand’s commitment to providing an excellent customer experience.

The competition included seven distinct categories, including customer support, parts, general maintenance, bodywork, painting, service advising, and sales consulting. Fifty contestants who advanced through the preliminary rounds competed for top honors in their respective areas of expertise.

An interesting development for this year’s contest was the addition of the sales consultant category, reflecting the dedication to enhancing the competence of sales personnel in delivering exceptional service to Toyota and Lexus customers.

In the “2023 Annual Syndicated Automobile Study” conducted by Consumer Insight in July, Lexus secured the top position in the After Sales Satisfaction (CSI) category, while Toyota ranked first in the Sales Service Satisfaction (SSI) segment, highlighting their dedication to delivering quality service and support to customers.
