The Louvre and other tourist locations were evacuated in Paris following a reported bomb threat. In a statement posted on 'X', the social media site formerly known as Twitter, the museum announced it was closing for security reasons on 14 October. The French president raised its national security alert system to a high level and mobilized 7,000 troops for increased security in response to a knife attack at a school in Arras, where a teacher was fatally stabbed to death and two others seriously injured on 13 October 2023.
