Israel launches program for Sderot residents to move to state-supported guest houses

The Israeli Defense Ministry's National Emergency Authority (NEMA) announced on 12 October the launch of the 'Mishab Rukh' program that will allow Sderot residents to refresh themselves in guest houses subsidized by the state. Sderot Mayor Alon Davidi has called on the Israeli govenrment to evacuate the city residents for at least 10 days to areas beyond the immediate range of rockets from Gaza. More than 1,300 Israelis have been killed and over 3,200 others injured, according to the Israel Defense Forces, after the Islamist movement Hamas launched an attack against Israel from the Gaza Strip on 07 October.
