Technology university to host lecture on AI’s impact on journalism

The Seoul School of Integrated Sciences & Technologies, also called as aSSIST University, will hold a lecture that explores the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on journalism as AI continues to drive massive changes in society and industry.

The lecture, titled, “AI Journalism, Fake News: Ethics and Legislation” will be held at an aSSIST lecture hall in Seodaemun District, northern Seoul, on Oct. 23.

Choi Eun-soo, an emeritus professor at aSSIST University, will deliver a presentation on the topic of “Future of Media in the Era of AI Journalists.”

Choi will cover various issues in the media, including the emergence of AI reporters, the rise of creator journalism, and the worsening business of paper newspapers.

Kim Chang-ryong, another emeritus professor at aSSIST University, will speak on “AI Journalism, Fake News: Ethics and Legislation,” while Jang Joong-ho, a professor of AI strategic management at the university, will share insights on “Types and Practices of Generative AI.”
