Preorders for Seventeen's upcoming album "Seventeenth Heaven" surpassed 4.67 million copies worldwide, a record for the boy band.
The band's 11th EP "Seventeenth Heaven," set to drop on Oct. 23, recorded 4,673,069 preorders as of Thursday, the highest for any of the boy band's albums so far, according to the band's agency Pledis Entertainment.
Its previous EP "FML" had hit 4.64 million copies in preorders and sold 4.55 million copies within the first week of release last April, which was the highest for any K-pop album then.
The band sold 10 million copies of its albums this year alone.
"Seventeenth Heaven" is a play-on-word of the English phrase "Seventh Heaven," which expresses a state of pure joy and happiness, Pledis Entertainment said. Other details, such as the list of tracks and videos, will be released in the coming days.
On Tuesday, Seventeen won the top prize at this year's The Fact Music Awards, breaking BTS's five-year winning streak. Seventeen also won the Artist of the Year with NewJeans IVE, Nmixx, aespa, Treasure, ITZY, Ateez, Stray Kids and trot singer Lim Young-woong.
