Boy band Pentagon dropped a surprise digital single titled “With Universe” on Tuesday, the band’s agency, Cube Entertainment, announced.
“‘With Universe’ is a letter from Pentagon to Universe, which stayed with the members through seven years with the same love as always, that the members will be together with them forever,” the agency said.
“They show their sincerity and gratitude toward fans through lyrics such as ‘To us and Universe, who will be together now and forever.’”
Members Jinho, Hui, Hongseok, Shinwon, Yeo One, Yuto, Kino and Wooseok recorded the single. Yanan could not participate due to personal schedules.
On Monday, Cube Entertainment said that members Yeo One, Yanan, Yuto, Kino and Wooseok will depart the agency, leaving only four original band members with Cube Entertainment.
Pentagon debuted on Oct. 10, 2016, with 10 members: Yeo One, Yanan, Yuto, Kino, Wooseok, Hui, Jinho, Hongseok, Shinwon and E’Dawn.
E’Dawn, now known as Dawn, left Pentagon and Cube Entertainment in September 2018 after he came forward with his relationship with singer HyunA, even though the agency had publicly denied the relationship.
Monday’s news now leaves members Hui, Jinho, Hongseok and Shinwon with Pentagon. Hui, Jinho and Hongseok’s contracts have been paused because of their military service and will end on different dates.
