The Sir Cowasji Jehangir Institute was established in 1865 by a Parsi family and caters to patients suffering from mental disorders, from Sindh as well as Balochistan provinces. Despite all efforts and donations, the institute still lacks resources. The patients suffer from mental illness, including schizophrenia, and have been put into the institute by their relatives. Their survival now depends on the institute which provides medicine, food and clothing.
