Eric Adams visits the Darien Gap in Colombia

Adams earlier visited the Gulf of Uraba region in the northwest where migrants begin their route through the dangerous Darien jungle towards Central America and where this year a historic number of more than 400,000 people have already crossed. Adams has explained that he is carrying out this tour in Latin America, with stops in Mexico, Ecuador, Panama, and Colombia, to understand the reality of the countries of origin of the migration that arrives in his city, to learn about the actions that their governments are taking to prevent risky migration and combat misinformation from mafias that recruit migrants who arrive irregularly in the United States.
