Samsung Electronics unveiled the Galaxy SmartTag2 on Thursday, featuring improved location tracking capabilities that enable Samsung Galaxy users can find their belongings in an easy and intuitive way.

The Galaxy SmartTag series employs low-power Bluetooth and ultra-wideband technology, allowing users to locate attached items without the need for network connectivity. These versatile devices can be attached to various items such as pets, car keys, and more.

The new Galaxy SmartTag2 takes this a step further by incorporating NFC (Near Field Communication) technology, along with introducing innovative features such as ‘Lost Mode’ and ‘Compass View.’ NFC technology allows for seamless connectivity and interaction with the SmartTag2, simplifying the tracking and management of belongings.

The ‘Lost Mode’ feature offers users an added layer of security and convenience. Users can mark an item as lost, and when another Galaxy user’s smartphone comes into proximity with the lost item, it can send a notification to the owner, aiding in the recovery process.

The ‘Compass View’ feature enhances the tracking experience by providing directional arrows that point toward the location of the Galaxy SmartTag2, streamlining the search process.

The Galaxy SmartTag2 is set for a global release starting on October 11, 2023, with specific release dates and pricing details for the Korean market to be announced shortly.
