LG Uplus shares next-generation mobile communication vision in 6G White Paper

LG Uplus Corp., South Korea’s third-largest wireless carrier, announced Wednesday that it released a white paper on sixth-generation (6G) to outline its vision for the era of upcoming 6G technology.

The white paper serves as a comprehensive roadmap for the LG Uplus’ approach to 6G technology and its potential applications in various fields.

In the white paper, LG Uplus presents its vision for 6G as “S.I.X,” which stands for Sustainability, Intelligence, and eXpansion.

Each aspect of the vision is accompanied by the necessary technologies and requirements. Notably for sustainability, LG Uplus emphasizes both environmental considerations and technological factors such as network stability and information security.

LG Uplus also provides examples of the services that could become possible with 6G technology, including immersive communications like virtual reality and holographic communication, as well as the concept of smart cities.
