Choi Gwang-ho won Korea’s second gold in the roller rink at the Hangzhou Asian Games on Sunday, wrapping up a dominant morning as Korea added one gold, one silver and one bronze to the medal haul.

Choi won the men’s speed skating 1,000-meter sprint with a time of 1 minute and 29.497 seconds, narrowly beating countryman Jung Cheol-Won, who took silver with 1 minute and 29.499 seconds.

The bronze medal went to Chinese Taipei’s Chao Tsu-cheng.

Chinese Taipei and Korea also split the medals in the women’ 1,000-meter sprint, where Korea’s Lee Ye-rim took bronze with a time of 1 minute and 38.750 seconds, a hair behind Chinese Taipei’s Li Meng-Chu and Liu Yi-Hsuan in first and second respectively.

Sunday’s results add to already impressive medal haul for Korea on the skating rink, with six medals already won after just four races — two gold, one silver and three bronze.

Korea’s Jeong Byeong-hee won gold in the men’s speed skating 10,000-meter point elimination on Saturday, with Korea also taking bronze in the race and bronze in the equivalent women’s race.
