D&K Chem Tech to launch PF boards in insulation market

South Korean chemical manufacturer Kumho P&B Chemicals, Inc. announced Monday that D&K Chem Tech Co., a joint venture it established with Dongsung Chemical Co., is entering the insulation market.

D&K Chem Tech‘s functional phenolic foam (PF) board, a phenolic foam insulation material, will be launched via Huegreen, Kumho P&B Chemical’s building materials brand. Two models, “Hugreen PF Board” and “Hugreen PF Board Core,” will be released to suit different use and performance needs.

The company expects that demand for insulation materials such as urethane and polystyrene will gradually shift to PF boards as regulations on quasi-incombustible materials such as gypsum boards tighten.

Accordingly, the company plans to take preemptive actions to meet the expansion of demand by continuously preparing to acquire quality and eco-friendly certifications and actively considering the expansion of relevant production facilities.

D&K Chem Tech was formed by Kumho P&B Chemicals and Dongsung Chemical in January 2020 as a 50:50 joint venture that specializes in manufacturing PF boards.
