Jung Kook nominated for "Song of Summer" 2 years in a row

(MHNSPORTS Heewon Kim reporter) BTS Jung Kook was honored on the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.

The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards (MTV VMA) was held at Prudential Center in New Jersey on the 12th (local time). 

On this day, Jung Kook of BTS won the 'Song of Summer' category through his first solo single 'Seven (feat. Latto)' which was released on the 14th of July.

Last year, Jung Kook was nominated for the 'Song of Summer' category for the first time as a Korean solo artist through 'Left and Right (Feat. Jung Kook of BTS)' in collaboration with the Western singer Charlie Puth. This year marks his second consecutive year as a nominee for the 'Song of Summer' MTV VMAs.

In addition, 'Seven' has also been consistently performing well on the Billboard charts. 'Seven' ranked 37th on the 'Hot 100' in the latest chart (as of September 16) released by Billboard on the 12th (local time), and has topped the charts for eight consecutive weeks in the 'Billboard Global (excluding the United States)'.
