New school year begins at Lauder-Reut Jewish High School in Bucharest

In Romania, the school year 2023/24 started on 11 September with physical attendance at classes for approximately 2.7 million students and pre-schoolers. The Lauder-Reut Educational Complex was established in 1997 by the international Ronald S. Lauder Foundation and now hosts over 400 students in the kindergarten, lower and middle school, being a a successful alternative to the public schools in the country, with a bilingual educational offer (Romanian-English). The Lauder-Reut High School opened with a theoretic profile (arts and science) and an extra school offer of business, media and diplomacy, becoming one of the elite private schools in Romania. The cultural mission of the Lauder-Reut school is to revive the Jewish culture and Hebrew language in the Romanian diaspora, heavily affected by Holocaust and the former Communist regime.
