Amorepacific is entering the Mexican cosmetics market with its mid-range skincare-focused brand Laneige.
From Sept. 8, Amorepacific started selling over 20 Laneige products through the Sephora online channel in Mexico. Beginning on Sept. 22, the company plans to expand its product offerings to 36 Sephora physical stores across Mexico.
Amorepacific's expansion into the Mexican market comes after its recent success in North America.
According to the beauty company, it recorded 105 percent revenue in the second quarter compared to the previous year, particularly with the popularity of products like Laneige’s Lip Sleeping Mask, Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream and Cream Skin.
“Mexico is known to swiftly adopt trends from the North American market,” Amorepacific said through a press release Monday, making it a strategic choice for the company to enter with the Laneige brand.
Following Laneige, Amorepacific will expand into the Central and South American markets through more brands, the company added.
“Through close collaboration with Sephora Mexico, we plan to expand our presence in the beauty and personal care markets in Central and South America that is estimated to worth around 45 billion won ($33.82 million),” said Lee Jin-pyo, chief strategy officer at Amorepacific.
