Service to beatify Jozef and Wiktoria Ulma and their seven children in Markowa

epa10852136 The reliquary (C) of the Ulma family is displayed during the religious service to beatify Jozef and Wiktoria Ulma and their seven children, who were murdered in 1944 by German Nazis for sheltering Jews, in Markowa, where the Ulma family once lived, in southeastern Poland, 10 September 2023. Wiktoria and Jozef Ulma, a Polish couple from Markowa, hid eight Jews in their home during the Second World War. In March 1944 they were executed by the Nazis together with their six children and the Jewish fugitives.
