BTS V's first official album "Layover" finally drops Friday at 1 p.m., and it will be a chance to see "all of Kim Tae-hyung the person," according to the singer.
"I do feel a heavy sense of pressure to be the last of the group members to start solo, but I'm ready to show you everything I've prepared for one by one," he said in a press release.
"The album shows all the charms of Kim Tae-hyung, the person," he added, saying his birthname instead of his stage name. "The key points would be that it's different, it's surprising and relaxed."
"Layover" is a six-track EP with lead track "Slow Dancing," along with songs "Rainy Days," "Blue," "Love Me Again," "For Us" and a piano remix of "Slow Dancing." It is a mix of pop and R&B topped off with V's unique colors, according to his agency BigHit Music.
The producer of girl group NewJeans and CEO of its agency ADOR, Min Hee-jin, took the helm in producing the song, choreography, design and overall concept of the album with a focus on the natural candor behind the galore of V as an artist, BigHit Music said.
Five music videos have been created for the album, two of which for "Rainy Days" and "Love Me Again" were released in advance. The music video for "Slow Dancing" will also be released at the same time, along with the album.
Before the new music, three of the songs sung by V in the past had also risen to the top of the charts in anticipation of the new project. "Winter Bear" (2019), "Snow Flower (feat. Peakboy)" (2020) and "Scenery" (2021), which were initially available on SoundCloud, were added to paid music streaming services last month and topped iTunes charts in over 20 countries around the world.
V is set to take part in various promotional activities, including television shows such as the SBS variety show "Running Man" on Sunday and more.
