Korea’s GDP grew 0.6 percent in the April-June period from a quarter earlier, matching an earlier estimate, according to Bank of Korea’s preliminary data on Tuesday.
The growth in the second quarter was bigger than the 0.3 percent growth in the first quarter, attributed to a faster fall in imports than exports, according to the central bank.
Exports fell 0.9 percent in the second quarter compared to the 4.5 percent gain in the previous quarter.
Imports tumbled 3.7 percent in the same period.
