Firefighters controlled a fire that broke out in said juvenile correctional facility located in the north of Quito, at a time when incidents and riots were taking place in different prisons in Ecuador. The National Comprehensive Care Service for Persons Deprived of Liberty (SNAI) indicated that at approximately noon, 'a group of adolescents set mattresses on fire, prompting the center authorities to take action to safeguard their integrity.'
