(MHNSPORTS Hyeonha Jeong reporter) The production of season 2 of "The Idol," which drew attention in Korea with Jennie's appearance, was canceled.

On Monday (August 28), the VARIETY, U.S.media, reported that the production of the idol season 2 has been canceled.

In addition, according to an HBO official, "After much discussion, we decided not to proceed with the production of Season 2."

After the first episode was released, meanwhile, the drama was embroiled in controversy over suggestive scene and received a lot of harsh criticism.

Also originally planned with six episodes, 'The Idol,' had been changed into a five-episode series after replacement of a director.
