'Mask Girl' lands No. 1 on Netflix weekly chart for non-English TV shows

Netflix series “Mask Girl” topped the streaming service’s weekly non-English language TV show ranking and landed in the top 10 in 72 countries in the second week of its release.
“Mask Girl” gained 7.4 million views on Netflix and reached the top 10 in countries such as France, Egypt, Canada and Hong Kong, according to Netflix on Wednesday.
“Mask Girl” surrounds the story of Mo-mi, an ordinary office worker with an inferiority complex about her looks who is a streamer after work. A colleague discovers her secret, and a series of horrendous events follows.
The series is based on a popular webtoon of the same name, published between 2015 and 2018.
“Mask Girl” stars Lee Han-byeol, Nana and Ko Hyun-jung as Mo-mi in different parts of the series, with Ahn Jae-hong and Yeom Hye-ran playing supporting roles.
