Samsung Developer Conference 2023 to be held on Oct. 5 in San Francisco

South Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics Co. said Wednesday that it will hold the annual Samsung Developer Conference 2023 in San Francisco, U.S., on October 5.

The conference is a global event that was launched in 2013 to share Samsung Electronics’ vision and innovations in software, services, and platforms with developers across the world. This year’s conference will be the ninth of its kind.

During this year’s event, Han Jong-hee, vice chairman and head of the Device eXperience (DX) division at Samsung Electronics, will deliver a keynote speech to share the company’s vision that offers differentiated customer experiences through platform innovation and enhanced ecosystem.

The company’s employees will also share strategies for each business aimed at innovating company-wide platforms such as SmartThings, Samsung Knox, and Bixby, expanding screen experiences with Tizen, offering a wide range of customer experiences with One UI for the Galaxy series, and evolving health and home experiences.

Samsung Electronics will also share plans on collaborating with developers and partners to provide next-generation connectivity experiences and updates to related software, services, and platforms.

The event will also feature a number of sessions including demonstrations of Samsung Electronics’ latest software technologies and sharing of development toolkits.

Attendees interested in coding will be able to join coding on-site at the “Code Lab” and receive mentoring from the company’s developers.

While the event was exclusive to invitations last year, this year’s conference will be open to all that register in advance. Keynote speeches and key sessions will be streamed live on the company’s online platforms such as YouTube.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Software Developer Conference (SSDC), a software developer conference held in Korea, will be renamed as SDC Korea for alignment with the SDC. It will be held on November 14 and 15.
