The UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, has stressed the need for the warring parties in Yemen to implement a nationwide ceasefire and start Yemeni-owned political negotiations on ending over eight years of war, according to a statement by the office of the UN envoy. Grundberg resumed consultations with regional actors to revive a UN-backed sustainable peace process in Yemen a few days after the Houthis attacked the government forces in southern Yemen.
