System failure halt production at Toyota plants

Toyota Motor Corporation announced on 29 August 2023 that production lines at 12 plants in Japan had been shut down since the morning due to a failure in the automaker's computer system managing parts orders. Additional lines at two other plants are also scheduled to stop production in the evening, causing the suspension of all vehicle production in Japan. The cause is under investigation.
