Legal action will be taken against sasaeng fans who entered NCT member Jaehyun’s accommodation in the United States, his agency SM Entertainment said Tuesday.
Sasaeng is a K-pop slang term referring to hardcore fans who stalk artists.
A video of a sasaeng fan intruding into the boy band member’s hotel in the United States was uploaded by the fan on Twitter on Tuesday.
The video was reportedly taken last year during the NCT’s U.S tour and the sasaeng fan misappropriated a hotel key card to break into the room.
“We are currently collecting information on the initial uploader and others who have redistributed the video to take stern measures on the illegal cases that are seriously detrimental to artists’ security,” the agency said in a statement Tuesday.
SM Entertainment released a statement back in March sharing that a sasaeng fan broke into member Haechan’s home in November last year.
“Certain people have been waiting at locations related to NCT members’ everyday lives […] they illegally obtain their private information to contact them or spread malignant rumors, causing extreme anguish for the members,” the agency wrote in March, warning it would take a no-tolerance stance on any kind of illegal activities against its artists.
