Imarpe trying to find cause of death of a whale stranded on a beach in Lima

Through its account on the social network X (formerly Twitter), Imarpe, the technical organisation on the study and knowledge of the Peruvian sea, clarified that the institution's specialists in top predators have already obtained some biological samples of the cetacean that appeared on Senoritas beach, located in the Punta Hermosa sector of Lima. 'The research team is waiting for sea conditions to improve to continue with the identification and sampling of the animal, which could be a fin whale (Balaenoptera physalus) or a Bryde's whale (Balaenopters edeni)'.
