S.Coups of boy band Seventeen will take time off due to a recent injury he suffered to his knee, his agency Pledis Entertainment said Thursday.
"S.Coups fell on the ground and hurt his left knee while playing a ball game shooting for Seventeen's content," the agency said.
"He was immediately transported to the hospital where he went through extensive tests and was found to have torn his ligament and needed surgery. He is going through needed medical procedures and will go through surgery soon."
He will not be taking part in the group's activities until he is fully treated and healed, according to the agency.
"The artist is very eager to take part in all planned schedules, but we plan to manage the situation with his health as our utmost priority," the agency said.
Seventeen is set to begin its Japanese tour, "Follow," next month with two concerts at the Tokyo Dome, followed by concerts in Saitama, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka.
The band recently dropped "Sara Sara," the prerelease track for its upcoming compilation album set for release on Aug. 23. The boy band's first compilation album, "Always Yours," will feature a total of 27 tracks, including two brand new tracks, "Ima –Even if the world ends tomorrow-"and "Sara Sara."
