A live recording of singer and actor IU's 2022 concert will premiere at theaters across the country next month to celebrate the singer having successfully filled the Olympic Main Stadium for the first time for a Korean female soloist in last year's concert.
The film will be titled "IU Concert : The Golden Hour" after the name of the concert, "The Golden Hour : Under the Orange Sun." The concert took place twice at southern Seoul's Olympic Main Stadium, Korea's largest sports and music venue, on Sept. 17 and 18 last year.
IU performed in front of 80,000 fans during the two concerts, where she sang 25 most popular hits from her discography, such as "Celebrity" (2021), "YOU&I" (2011) and "Good Day" (2010). The concert also featured a hot air balloon, drone show and fireworks.
IU is one of the most renowned solo female singers in Korea, respected for her exquisite vocals and songwriting skills.
However, she has been focusing on her acting career and has not released any new album since December 2021, only featuring on a single for other artists.
IU said that she will be making a comeback to the music scene this year, but no new song has come yet.
