Multi-national classic crossover group Il Divo is coming to Korea in the coming fall.
The quartet is currently on its world tour, "A New Day," entailing more than 20 concerts in 15 countries. It is slated to perform in Korea on Nov. 21 and 22 at 8 p.m. at the Universal Arts Center in Gwangjin District, eastern Seoul.
It has visited Korea several times, in 2007, 2012, 2014 and 2016.
Il Divo is a male quartet currently comprised of tenors David Miller from the United States, Sébastien Izambard from France and Urs Bühler from Switzerland. The quartet's original Baritone, Carlos Marin from Spain, died in 2021 due to Covid-19 complications. Steven LaBrie from the United States has stepped in as a special guest for the group's ongoing tour.
Il Divo was produced in 2003 by English television personality, entrepreneur and record executive Simon Cowell.
The quartet is best known for its beautiful harmonies sung in different languages, including English, Italian, Spanish, French and Latin.
Il Divo topped the Billboard Album chart in 2005 with its third album "Ancora" and became the first crossover group to rank No.1 on the Billboard Top 200. It also received Artist of the Decade prize in the Classic Brit Awards in 2011.
Its latest album, "For Once In My Life: A Celebration of Motown" (2021), explores 1950s Motown music.
The quartet has sold over 30 million album copies worldwide, making it one of the few commercially successful popera groups.
Tickets to Il Divo's Seoul concerts will go on sale on the ticketing platforms Interpark and Yes24 starting at noon on Aug. 24.
