EVNNE, Jellyfish Entertainment's seven-member boy band, will make its debut on Sept. 18.
The boy band, comprised of seven contestants from Mnet's hit audition show "Boys Planet," was originally announced with the band name "BLIT," but the agency announced shortly after that it decided to change the band's name, as it "found hidden negative meanings behind the band's name."
The seven members of the band are Mun Jung-hyun, Park Ji-hoo, Park Han-bin, Yoo Seung-eon, Lee Jeong-hyeon, Ji Yun-seo and Keita. The seven members did not make it on the list of "Boys Planet" finalists but gained global popularity through the show.
"EVNNE stands for 'Evening's Newest Etoiles,' referring to the boy band who plans to grab people's attention, shining like a newborn star at the top of the world," the agency said.
According to Jellyfish's announcement, the agency took notice of the seven talents and contacted their agencies — WakeOne, Yue Hua Entertainment and Rain Company — who agreed to create the project group.
