The music video for boy band BTS’s “Permission to Dance” (2021) surpassed 600 million views on YouTube, the band’s agency Big Hit Music announced on Monday.
The video hit the milestone at around 4 a.m. on Monday, with “Permission to Dance” becoming the band's 12th music video to record over 600 million views.
“Permission to Dance,” released in July 2021, is an upbeat song encouraging listeners that despite the harsh realities of life, dancing is something you can do without reservation. The song topped the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart upon its release.
Other music videos by BTS that have surpassed the 600 million views mark include “Dynamite” (2020), “Boy With Luv” (2019) and “DNA” (2017).
BTS was formed in 2010 and consists of seven members, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook. Jin and J-Hope are currently serving in the Korean military for their mandatory service, and five members have released solo projects so far.
