Hyundai Motor is teaming up with Zhejiang-based NaaS Technology to develop an EV charging system targeting Chinese customers.
The Korean automaker signed a memorandum of understanding with the EV charging solution provider Monday to co-develop an EV charging system and other infrastructure targeting Chinese drivers.
Founded in 2019, NaaS has data for around 55,000 EV charging stations and 400,000 chargers installed in China, such as their locations.
The two will also develop a Home Charging system that allows Hyundai owners to make money by lending their home chargers to drivers in need. When drivers search for nearby charging stations, homes that are part of the system will appear as well.
"With the cooperation of NaaS, Hyundai Motor will offer a more comfortable and new charging service to our EV customers in China," Lee Hyuk-joon, a senior vice president at Hyundai Motor. "This latest collaboration will contribute to increasing our competitiveness in global markets."
