Inauguration of the 5th bridge of Abidjan

The 5th Abidjan Bridge is 630 meters long, of which 200 meters are cable-stayed, making it the first cable-stayed bridge in West Africa. It spans the Bay channel from Cocody and connects the municipalities of Cocody and Plateau, the business center of Abidjan. The works financed by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) for nearly 77.5 billion FCFA, were carried out by the Chinese company China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC). The new bridge was designed for around 30,000 vehicles per day to improve the traffic flow in the economic capital of Ivory Coast. EPA/LEGNAN KOULA
