It stands as a testament to the enduring Dhobi (washerman) tradition, intricately linked to the colonial era, now upheld by its third-generation torchbearers. Boasting a legacy of being one of the oldest and most extensive Dhobi communities, this village is home to over 150 families, predominantly of ethnic Tamil origin, who are actively engaged in the meticulous manual process of laundering ? encompassing washing, drying, and ironing.
