Girl group NewJeans will be performing at the "K-pop Super Live" concert that closes the 25th World Scout Jamboree, set to take place Friday at Seoul World Cup Stadium in western Seoul.
According to local media reports, NewJeans will be taking the stage alongside other K-pop acts that were scheduled to take part in this week's run of KBS's "Music Bank." NewJeans was also set to perform on the show to promote its latest EP "Get Up" released on July 21.
NewJeans' agency ADOR did not deny or confirm the report.
"The final lineup will be announced by the concert organizers," the agency told the Korea JoongAng Daily.
Other acts who were scheduled to appear on "Music Bank" will also likely take part in the concert but have not been confirmed yet.
KBS announced Monday that this Friday's episode of "Music Bank" will be canceled without explaining the reasons. KBS is the hosting broadcaster of this year's Jamboree and is responsible for airing the "K-pop Super Live" concert.
The concert will begin at 7 p.m. The closing ceremony of the 25th World Scout Jamboree will take place prior to the concert.
The "inevitable" decision to hold the concert at the Seoul World Cup Stadium came on Tuesday afternoon from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism due to the approach of Typhoon Khanun.
“It was inevitable to change the plan of ending the Jamboree with a K-pop concert at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium due to the altered course of the typhoon,” said Culture Minister Park Bo-gyoon in a press release.
"Friday's concert will allow 40,000 scout members to experience the essence of Korean culture and become one, to give a heart-warming finale to the Jamboree."
