Indonesia imports rice due impact of El Nino

The Indonesian government imports 300 thousand tons of rice in anticipation of the potential decline in agricultural land production, which will affect the national food supply due to the impact of El Nino.The national logistics agency said the arrival of 300 thousand tons of rice was the second phase of imports out of a total assignment of 2 million tons of imported rice in 2023. Meanwhile, in the first stage, as many as 500 thousand tons had entered.
