Girl group ITZY returned with its seventh EP "Kill My Doubt" on Monday, selling over 300,000 albums on the first day of its release.
"Kill My Doubt" sold over 318,000 units on the first day of its release on Monday, a highest-ever first-day sales record for the girl group and almost half of what the girl group's previous album, "Cheshire" (2022) sold in the first week.
The album's name, "Kill My Doubt," refers to the "doubtful and uneasy mindset that everyone has," according to member Ryujin in a press release on Monday.
"We wanted to convey the thoughts that to love and trust oneself, you must face the insecurities as well," she added.
The album's lead track, "Cake," is a summer score filled with the girl group's energetic vibe, according to Yeji.
"The core essence of 'Cake' is the summer-themed melody that's guaranteed to fight off the heatwave," Yuna said.
ITZY first unveiled performance stages for "Cake" and three other b-side tracks, "Bet on Me," "None of My Business," and "Kill Shot," during its fan showcase on Monday at the SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium in Songpa District, southern Seoul.
"I think we can proudly present the album as one that we've put a lot of effort into," the members said on Monday. Usually, fan showcases are held in much smaller venues.
"To fulfill the expectations of our fans, we planned the largest-ever showcase since debut."
