President Yoon will officially be on a break between Aug. 2 and Aug. 8. The decision came at the requsts of his employees that have been overworked including recent overseas trips.

President Yoon Suk Yeol will be going on summer vacation for seven days starting Wednesday.

“We have asked President Yoon to take a vacation because it seems his aides need a break since they've been buried in work, including overseas trips," said the president’s spokesperson, Lee Do-hoon, on Monday. "Also, if the president goes on a vacation, it will help vitalize the domestic market and regional economy."

President Yoon will officially be on a break between Aug. 2 and Aug. 8.

The president’s office did not disclose where he will be spending his vacation.

However, one possibility being raised in the local media is Jeodo Island in South Gyeongsang, where the presidential summer house is located.

This is the same island where President Park Geun-hye spent her first vacation as president in 2013.

During her visit, she wrote “Memories of Jeodo Island,” on the beach.

In July 2019, President Moon Jae-in, in his third year as president, took a trip with close aides, including then South Gyeongsang governor Kim Kyoung-soo.

He took a stroll with 100 other people along the island after he opened up the island to the public for the first time.

The only area that remains off-limits is the presidential summer house.

The island features a 300-square-meter (3,229-square-foot) presidential summer house, a nine-hole golf course, and a 200-meter-long beach.

There was talk that Yoon might vacation on the island last year, too.

However, he remained in Seoul.

While he took some time off, including a night at the theater, he spent most of his time in his apartment in Seocho-dong, Seoul, working on his policies.
