Limited collaboration products between Starbucks and girl group Blackpink sold out within a day on Tuesday.
According to industry insiders and media reports, the limited collaboration products with Blackpink that Starbucks launched on Tuesday sold out within the morning in online stores. In certain offline Starbucks venues where the products were released, customers went on an “open run” – where people camp in front of stores before they open.
The Blackpink limited collaboration products included a 95,000-won ($74.7) cold cup, water bottles, tumblers, ceramic mugs, a tote bag, keyrings and a passport wallet. All products featured the signature Blackpink colors of black and pink.
As of 11 a.m. Tuesday, over 90 percent of the supply that Starbucks had prepared had been sold out, according to Starbucks Korea.
Posts on social media and secondhand goods selling platforms looking for resells of the Blackpink-Starbucks collaboration products could be found as early as Tuesday.
The limited collaboration products are being sold in nine Asian countries, including Korea. Starbucks Korea is also selling collaboration food items.
