Multiple K-pop artists will appear at the exhibition match between Atletico Madrid and Team K League, a K League 1 all-star team, on Thursday.
The match, held as part of the Coupang Play Series, will see Changbin from boy band Stray Kids kick off the game as the ceremonial kicker, followed by a half-time performance by girl group (G)I-DLE.
Taemin from boy band SHINee, Monsta X's subunit duo Shownu x Hyungwon and trot singer Young Tak will perform after the game.
It will be the first time for Shownu x Hyungwon to perform its music outside of weekly music show performances, and will also see Young Tak performing a new song for the first time, Coupang Play, the match's organizer, said in a press release on Wednesday.
The match will be held at the Seoul World Cup Stadium in Mapo District, western Seoul, at 8 p.m. and streamed live on Coupang Play.
Coupang Play Series is a pre-season tour organized by Coupang Play — a streaming service owned by Korean e-commerce company Coupang — which will see Atletico Madrid, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain visit Korea to play exhibition matches.
Atletico Madrid will play Team K League and Paris Saint-Germain will play Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors. Manchester City will play Atletico Madrid.
Coupang Play Series, first began last year, brought Tottenham Hotspur and Sevilla to Korea for the inaugural series, with Spurs facing Team K League at Seoul World Cup Stadium before the two teams played each other in Suwon, Gyeonggi.
