British-American director Christopher Nolan will be the first guest for tvN's new program "Encyclopedia of Useless Facts Around the Earth," which is slated to begin airing every week from Aug. 3.
tvN surprised fans of Nolan on Monday by releasing a highlight video of the program, which was filmed in New York.
"Encyclopedia of Useless Facts Around the Earth" is a talk show where experts and laymen get together to discuss knowledge and information and is an extension of tvN's "The Dictionary of Useless Knowledge" series. The show digs into stories in cities across the globe.
Film director Jang Hang-jun and actor Kim Min-ha serve as hosts, while film critic Lee Dong-jin, architect Yoo Hyun-jun, physicist Kim Sang-wook and astronomer Shim Chae-kyung join as cast members.
In the highlight video released Monday, Nolan, whose most recent film "Oppenheimer" is already gathering Oscar buzz, was shown participating in the talks in the upcoming program.
Interviews with "Oppenheimer" cast members Cillian Murphy, Emily Blunt, Matt Damon and Robert Downey Jr. were also teased in the highlight video.
"Oppenheimer," a biographical drama based on the 2005 book "American Prometheus" by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin, centers on J. Robert Oppenheimer, a physicist who developed the first nuclear weapons during World War II.
“Oppenheimer” opens on Aug. 15 in Korea.
