DEEPSMARTECH emerged triumphant in the D.Day regional league, held at W360 on Jeju Island, as announced by D.Camp, operated by the Banks Foundation for Young Entrepreneurs.

D.Day featured a competition among five local and early-stage startups extending their services to the region. A total of 128 companies participated, resulting in an intense competition with a ratio of 25 companies vying for each spot in the final.

DEEPSMARTECH, the winning startup, has been working on an innovative polymer thin film deposition technology that enables nano-level coating of various polymer nano coatings for functions such as water repellent, hydrophilic, and antiviral properties.

In contrast to the conventional chemical vapor deposition (CVD) technique in semiconductor processes, which necessitates high temperatures to apply coatings of 300 or more layers thinly, DEEPSMARTECH has successfully developed a mass-production technology that allows for uniform coating at room temperature.

According to the company, this groundbreaking technology, when applied to the separator membranes in electric vehicle batteries or silicon components, can significantly enhance safety against fires and boost the driving range of vehicles. Moreover, DEEPSMARTECH has ambitious plans to extend the application of these cutting-edge coating technologies to various markets, including food packaging and functional apparel.

The remaining four startups that presented at the event are as follows:

Lansik has developed an exceptional blood sugar management solution called “GlucoFit,” harnessing the power of Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) technology. Drawing inspiration from research results indicating that individuals react differently to the same foods, Lansik’s service effectively manages blood sugar spikes and aids in body fat reduction. By affixing a sensor to the back of one’s arm for measuring blood sugar levels, users can conveniently monitor real-time blood sugar responses to their dietary choices through an app, receiving personalized dietary plans based on the data.

Notably, users utilizing GlucoFit for four weeks experienced an average blood sugar improvement of 8 percent and an average weight loss of 3 kg.

Tams has crafted a financial quotation service called “SELBI” specifically for car dealers. In the past, car dealers faced the arduous task of preparing quotations in various formats for different financial institutions and then indirectly delivering them through financial agencies to customers. This process often took several hours, up to 48 hours, and frequently resulted in customers incurring fees.

To address this issue, Tams has ingeniously developed an app that streamlines the financial quotation process into a unified platform. By shifting the burden of fees solely to financial institutions, both customers and car dealers benefit from an improved experience. Tams already forged business consignment agreements with major financial institutions, including Hana Card, and plans to officially launch its service in the third quarter of this year.

CYCLOID is developing a second-hand trading platform for two-wheelers. Unlike cars, two-wheelers lack a nationally certified maintenance qualification, and there is no obligation to provide performance inspection records for used vehicles, making them vulnerable to fraud. To address this issue and empower buyers with objective evaluations of the vehicle’s condition, CYCLOID offers performance inspection records conducted by experts. Additionally, the company implements a refund guarantee to enhance safety measures for buyers. With plans to expand the platform to include new and electric two-wheeler markets, CYCLOID sets its sights on achieving about 45 billion won ($35.1 million) in revenue by 2026.

Clebrain has developed a revolutionary music sheet platform known as “Piano Keywiz,” aiming to assist even hobbyist musicians in completing a piece within five days. Piano Keywiz currently supports a service that recognizes real-time piano playing sounds and automatically turns pages of the music sheet accordingly. Clebrain has ambitious plans to provide personalized learning solutions based on the accumulated performance data.

The company highlights the booming music sheet sales market, with global platforms generating over 100 billion won in annual transactions. However, many consumers struggle with volatile performance data as most music sheet is distributed in PDF files. Clebrain’s dedication to innovation is evident in the fact that it has already garnered 32,000 subscribers and intends to further reduce music sheet transaction fees to 0 percent with the addition of learning solution features.
