Celebrities are making a series of donations to recovery efforts for damages caused by heavy rain.
According to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association on Wednesday, singer and actor Suzy donated 100 million ($79,000) won to help those affected by flash floods.
"I send my deepest sympathies to those who have been affected by the recent heavy rains," Suzy reportedly commented on top of the donation. "This donation is in hopes that it will help them return to their everyday lives as soon as possible."
Singer Youngtak also donated 100 million won to the Korean Red Cross for relief efforts in affected regions in North Gyeongsang, while singer Jang Min-ho donated 100 million won to the Community Chest of Korea.
Actor Koo Hye-sun said on her social media Wednesday that she sent 1 ton of rice to Yecheon County in North Gyeongsang, an area heavily affected by the downpours and one of the 13 special disaster zones designated.
