The Busan city government will host the Job Fair for International Students in Busan on Thursday, aiming to have more international students reside in the city with the F-2-R regional specialized residency visa.
A total of 16 companies will be attending the job fair at the Busan Port International Exhibition & Convention Center.
Companies attending the event will conduct on-site interviews and answer questions job seekers may have. There will also be booths that take resume photos and do hair and makeup for job interviews.
Participating companies are all based in Busan, and those who get a job at the companies can get the F-2-R regional specialized residency visa.
The F-2-R visa allows foreigners to reside in Korea for five years but requires them to live and work in areas designated by the government. This year, Busan has a F-2-R visa quota of 110 and allows foreigners to live and work in Dong District, Seo District and Yeongdo District. It has currently issued visas to 38 foreigners.
Around 250 international students have registered to attend the job fair. Sign-up can be done online via the job fair website. On-site registration will also be available.
Those who can’t attend the job fair can apply for jobs open at the participating companies via the job fair’s website. Applications are open until August 4.
“We hope the job fair will be a good opportunity for companies who are facing labor shortages and international students who want to live in Busan,” said Nam Jeong-eun, head of Busan’s Youth & Industrial-Academic Support Bureau. “We will do our best to invite more talented students to live and work in Busan.”
