Wildlife department set up cage to catch leopard after panic in Kashmir
epa10753023 The officials of the Department of Wildlife set up a cage to catch a leopard in Hari Parbat downtown area of Srinagar, the summer capital of Indian Kashmir, 18 July 2023. Locals living around the Hari Parbat area of Srinagar said that they sighted a leopard roaming in the area, creating a panic among the people. According to the Wildlife Department of Jammu and Kashmir from 2006 till the end of 2022, the Human-Wildlife Conflict (HWC) in Kashmir claimed 242 lives while 2940 people have been injured in such incidents.
