Samsung, telcos gear up for promotion ahead of Galaxy Unpack

With the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event, where Samsung Electronics Co. will unveil its latest foldable phones, just a week away, the Korean company and mobile carriers are gearing up for a promotional drive.

According to industry sources on Tuesday, Samsung Electronics and three major telecom companies are accepting pre-registration notifications for the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Z Fold 5.

Samsung is currently running a promotion where customers who pre-register and purchase the new devices on Samsung.com will receive a complimentary Happy Money gift card worth 15,000 won ($11.9) on a first-come, first-served basis.

Additionally, customers who pre-register will have the chance to win tickets to the “Galaxy Unpacked 2023 Live Viewing Event,” which will take place at Seoul Square Outdoor Stage from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on July 26. Samsung Electronics will also hold performances and operate a product experience zone before and after the event.

The three major telecom companies are also hosting pre-registration events.

SK Telecom Co. is offering ice cream gift certificates to customers who set up pre-registration notifications at T Direct Shop and providing a discount coupon worth 20,000 won (limited to 2,500 people) for customers who pre-register and purchase Samsung’s new foldable phone.

KT Corp. is giving away prizes such as the Galaxy Book3 360 (1 winner), Bluetooth speakers (5 winners), Naver Pay 1,000 won (10,000 winners), and KakaoTalk emoticons (30,000 winners) to customers who pre-register at the official KT Shop.

LG Uplus Corp. is offering Chanel and Bottega Veneta bags (1 winner each), Celine sunglasses (1 winner), Nike sneakers (1 winner), and KakaoPay 1,000 points (90,000 winners) as prizes to customers who pre-register at Uplus.com.
